Pedestrian tragedy #stalbert

Statement from Nolan Crouse, Mayor of St. Albert

Pedestrian Fatality in Grandin on June 8, 2017

It is with a heavy heart that St. Albert City Council received the news of the tragic passing of a young teen who was struck by a van late this afternoon in St. Albert.

On behalf of St. Albert City Council, I pass my sincerest condolences to his parents, family, relatives, schoolmates and to all those who knew and loved him. Todays terrible loss reminds us of how precious life is, and how we must do everything we can to help create a community that is safe and secure for all.

We await the findings of the investigation from the St. Albert RCMP. I have asked the City Manager, Kevin Scoble, to spare no resources in performing a complete review of this incident to prevent this type of tragedy from ever occurring on our streets again.

I encourage residents to join me in doing all we can to help support the family during this very difficult time. Contact:
